Kibosho is home to one of the oldest Catholic Church in Tanzania. The 120 year old Kibosho Catholic Church at the foot of Mt Kilimanjaro is a stunning structure composed entirely of stones. It was built by the Germans in 1893 and is located in the midst of the banana plantations in the area.
Materuni waterfall is a spectacular 70m waterfall located in the Marangu area. Accompanied by an attractive 45minute walk to the base of the waterfall through the lush rainforest, this trip is an ideal getaway for those with limited time but still would like to see some of the natural beauty that the Kilimanjaro region has to offer.

LET'S Trip
TOGETHER
You will be picked up at O8OOhrs at the lodge and transferred to Kibosho village to visit the Catholic Church. You will be given a tour of the church and the history of this magnificent building will be explained in depth.
After spending an hour or two at the church and socializing with the locals you will be transferred to the Materuni waterfalls in the Marangu area. While at the waterfalls you will be able to explore the surrounding natural vegetation or take a swim in the pool at the base of the waterfalls. Packed lunch will be provided which you can enjoy as a picnic lunch near the falls.
After lunch you will visit the nearby Materuni village and explore the life of the Chagga tribe that lives in this area. In the late afternoon you will be transferred back to your lodge in Moshi.
