Materuni waterfalls is located just about 45 minutes’ drive from Moshi town and it stands 150m high in the lush green forests on the foothills of Mt. Kilimanjaro. This excursion is ideal for body acclimatization especially for those planning to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro as the trek will take you up to over 1,400 m/ 4593 ft amsl.

Leave your hotel in Moshi at around 0900hrs and transfer to Materuni village. You will meet your local guide who will join you to share the wonderful culture of the Chagga people; during your one hour walk to the waterfalls. You will stay there for a while having some snacks or getting a soak (for hot days … J and then begin your walk to catch your vehicle. On the way, you will experience how villagers around grow and brew coffee locally till they end up with a cup of a natural coffee! You will then drive  back to your hotel in Moshi.
